‘A Private View’ was a site-specific installation at Eastney Beach in Portsmouth. From behind, a pram-style hood is camouflaged with the pebbles. From the front, a sumptuous bed of bright red satin protrudes like a large tongue.  Viewers recline in the padded bed for a ‘private view’ of the sea, their face protected from the elements by the pram hood. The installation was a response to me feeling creatively stuck on another project, which led me to seek the rejuvenating properties of the sea.
