From Behind Mother’s Yellow Petticoat
‘From Behind Mother’s Yellow petticoat’ was one of several pieces made in response to the industrial-scale open plan studio environment of my fine art degree. It was large enough for several adults to enter. The title references a child seeking safety in their mother’s skirts. On crossing the threshold of this piece, feet stand on lush green grass, and the austere external environment becomes filtered through the sunshine yellow gauze.
